The December elections will cover municipal corporations in Gilgit, Skardu and Chilas, giving voters in these urban centres an opportunity to elect representatives responsible for local civic affairs and municipal services.

Remaining Local Government Elections in April 2027

Elections for the remaining local government bodies, including district councils, union councils and municipal committees, are scheduled for April 2027.

The revised timetable follows repeated delays linked to harsh winter conditions and amendments to the local government legal framework.
