Kesar – Son of God Episode 18: The Blue-Necked Eagle | Shyok Times
Kesar – Son of God
Chapter (Yuldak) No. 5
“Lafu Kesar’s Expedition to the North”
Episode Number: 18 (The Blue-Necked Eagle)
Malda Brumskid spoke anxiously, saying, “Every day, you make up new stories about Lafo Kesar. Who knows when he might suddenly appear? I’m afraid he may harm you. If that happens, where will I ever find another husband as good as you?”
Dray Shima Rgyal replied, “My dear wife, why are you worrying so much? I am not someone who can be killed so easily. Look, beneath the very spot where you are sitting, at the bottom of the inner pit, there are millions of insects. These are my minor veins. They cannot be severed unless the insects are roasted in boiling oil.
“And look at this massive pillar! It contains hundreds of thousands of needles. Unless these needles are ground into powder, scattered into the air, and their particles fall into the water, my major veins cannot be destroyed.
“Inside the palace, in the glass chamber, there are dozens of eagles. These are the veins that sustain my life. I can die only when the necks of all these eagles are broken. I am not joking. When Lafo Kesar arrives, he will discover that he cannot even touch me!”
Hearing this, Malda Brumskid felt a deep sense of relief and happiness. That night, she embraced her husband and slept peacefully beside him. They spent the night kissing one another.
The following morning, as soon as the giant left to go hunting, his wife brought Lafo Kesar out of the pit where he had been hiding.
“Son of an evil mother, hurry!” she said. “The time has come for you to act.”
Lafo Kesar poured boiling apricot oil into the inner pit, killing all the insects. Then he took an axe and smashed the pillar, removing all the needles from within it. He ground the needles into powder and scattered it into the air, allowing the larger particles to fall into the water.
Next, Malda Brumskid and Lafo Kesar entered the glass chamber. One by one, they broke the necks of all the eagles. However, one eagle had a blue neck, and the two of them failed to catch it.
The blue-necked eagle flew from one place to another, darting from wall to wall. When they could not capture it, Malda Brumskid said to Lafo Kesar, “If this eagle, which holds my husband’s life, escapes, it could bring him back to the fortress and enable him to kill you.
“You must cut some hair from your horse’s tail and make a net. We will frighten the eagle so that it flies from one side of the chamber to the other. Then we can catch it and kill it.”
Lafo Kesar did exactly as Malda Brumskid instructed. At last, they managed to trap the blue-necked eagle in the net.
However, Lafo Kesar did not kill the bird immediately. Holding it in his hand, he left the chamber and climbed onto the roof of the fortress.
From there, he saw Dray Shima Rgyal racing across the desert toward the fortress. As he watched the giant approach, Lafo Kesar began squeezing the eagle’s neck while keeping his eyes on Dray Shima Rgyal.
Whenever he tightened his grip on the bird’s neck, he saw Dray Shima Rgyal collapse to the ground. But whenever Lafo Kesar loosened his grip, the giant would rise to his feet again.
