“Lafu Kesar’s Expedition to the North”

Lafo Kesar captured the blue-throated eagle and, from the roof of the fortress, looked towards Dre Shima Rgyal, who was terrified. Whenever Lafo Kesar squeezed the bird’s neck, Dre Shima Rgyal would fall down, and as soon as he released its neck, the giant would rise again.
When Dre Shima Rgyal approached the fortress, Lafo Kesar’s guardian deity, Devi, said, “O son of an evil mother! If you continue doing this, he will grab you in his hands and devour you immediately. You will not even amount to the smallest piece of meat in his meal. You must kill the blue-throated eagle at once.”
Following this advice, Lafo Kesar broke the eagle’s neck and successfully killed it. At that very moment, Dre Shima Rgyal’s gigantic body crashed into the courtyard of the fortress with a tremendous thud!
When the giant’s body struck the ground, Lafo Kesar descended from the fortress and sacrificed a goat before the guardian deities of Kharibu Kharaqthing. Disguising himself as Kharibu Kharaqthing, Lafo Kesar took the giant’s helmet and armour. Then, standing on the giant’s big toe, he tried to crush the area around his feet and knees.
Dre Shima Rgyal exclaimed, “Oh! It feels as though some lice or fleas are crawling over my feet!”
Lafo Kesar replied, “Do you not know that the people of Ling Yul have arrived here? I am Kharibu Kharaqthing, and I intend to crush you into tiny pieces.”
The monster responded, “Oh, Kharibu Kharaqthing! Someone as weak as you should not try to walk all over me.”
With these words, he raised one of his legs and kicked with tremendous force. The kick sent Lafo Kesar flying a distance of eighteen pairs of oxen. Lafo Kesar soared through the air before crashing to the ground.
After recovering, he wondered, “How much strength does Dre Shima Rgyal still have left?”
This time, he transformed himself into Khufu Khairgod. After offering a goat to the deities of Khufu Khairgod, he put on the helmet and armour and climbed onto Dre Shima Rgyal’s feet once again. He again attempted to crush the giant’s feet and legs.
When the giant felt something moving on his body, he said, “It feels as though someone a little heavier is crawling over me. Who is it?”
Lafo Kesar replied, “Do you not know? My name is Khufu Khairgod, and I have come to kill you.”
The giant answered, “Oh! You are still a milk-fed infant. A child like you should not try to kill me.”
Saying this, he raised his leg and kicked again. Lafo Kesar flew through the air and fell to the ground. This time, the kick hurled him a distance of nine pairs of oxen.
Lafo Kesar returned once more. This time, he decided to make an offering to the deities of Habu Dongbo. He transformed himself into Habu Dongbo and sacrificed a goat to its guardian deities. Wearing the helmet and armour, he climbed onto Dre Shima Rgyal’s feet once again.
This time, Lafo Kesar used his feet to crush the giant from his feet up to his waist.
Dre Shima Rgyal cried out, “Oh! This time, it feels as though someone much stronger and heavier than before is crawling over me. Who are you?”
Lafo Kesar replied, “Do you not know that Habu Dongbo, the wise one of Ling Yul, has come to kill you?”
Once again, Dre Shima Rgyal raised his leg and kicked. Lafo Kesar flew through the air before falling to the ground. This time, he was thrown a distance of just three pairs of oxen.

لفو کیسر نے نیلے گلے والے عقاب کو پکڑ کر قلعے کی چھت سے ڈرے شیما رگیال کی طرف دیکھا۔ جیسے ہی وہ پرندے کی گردن دباتا، ڈرے شیما رگیال گِر جاتا اور گردن چھوڑتے ہی پھر اٹھ کھڑا ہوتا۔
جب ڈرے شیما رگیال قلعے کے قریب پہنچا، لفو کیسر کے محافظ دیوی نے کہا: "اے بری ماں کے بیٹے! اگر تم اسی طرح کرتے رہے تو وہ تمہیں اپنے ہاتھوں میں پکڑ کر فوراً کھا جائے گا۔ تم اس کے کھانے میں سب سے چھوٹے گوشت کے ٹکڑے کی طرح بھی نہیں لگو گے۔ تمہیں فوراً نیلے گلے والے عقاب کو مار دینا چاہیے۔" اس کی ہدایت پر عمل کرتے ہوئے، لفو کیسر نے عقاب کی گردن توڑ دی اور کامیابی سے اسے مار ڈالا۔ اسی وقت، ڈرے شیما رگیال کا دیو ہیکل جسم دھم سے قلعے کے صحن میں آ گرا! جب اس کا جسم زمین سے ٹکرایا، لفو کیسر قلعے سے نیچے اُتر آیا اور خریبو خرقتھنگ کے محافظ دیوتاؤں کے سامنے ایک بکری قربان کی۔ خود کو خریبو خراقتھنگ کی بھیس میں بدل کر، لفو کیسر نے خریبو خرقتھنگ کے جسم سے اس کا ہیلمٹ اور زرہ اٹھایا، اور دیو کے پاؤں کے انگوٹھے پر کھڑا ہو کر اس کے پاؤں اور گھٹنوں تک کے علاقے کو کچلنے کی کوشش کیا۔ ڈرے شیما رگیال نے کہا: "اوہ! مجھے لگتا ہے کہ کوئی جوؤں یا پلّو میرے پیروں پر چڑھ رہا ہے!" لفو کیسر نے جواب دیا: "کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ لنگ یول کے لوگ یہاں پہنچ چکے ہیں، اور میں، خریبو خرقتھنگ، تمہیں چھوٹے چھوٹے ٹکڑوں میں کچلنے کا ارادہ رکھتا ہوں۔" عفریت نے کہا: "اوہ! خریبُو خرقتھنگ! تم جیسے کمزور شخص کو میرے اوپر چلنے کی کوشش نہیں کرنی چاہیے۔" یہ کہہ کر، اس نے اپنے ایک ٹانگ اٹھائی اور ایسے لات ماری، اور اس لات سے اُس نے لفو کیسر کو اٹھارہ جوڑ بیلوں کے فاصلے تک پھینک دیا۔ لفو کیسر ہوا میں اُڑتا گیا، پھر زمین پر گر پڑا۔ سنبھلنے کے بعد اُس نے سوچا: "ڈرے شیما رگیال میں کتنی طاقت باقی ہے؟" اس بار اُس نے خود کو "خفو خیرگود" میں بدل لیا۔ اور خفو خیرگود کے دیوتاؤں کو ایک بکری کی قربانی دی— اُس کا ہلمیٹ اور زرہ پہن کر وہ دوبارہ ڈرے شیما رگیال کے پاؤں پر چڑھ گیا۔ اس کے بعد اُس نے دوبارہ کوشش کی کہ ڈرے شیما رگیال کے پاؤں اور ٹانگیں کچل دے۔ جب دیو نے اپنے جسم پر کچھ محسوس کیا، تو اُس نے کہا: "ایسا لگتا ہے کہ کوئی ذرا بھاری شخص میرے اوپر رینگ رہا ہے۔ کون ہے؟" لفو کیسر نے جواب دیا: "تم نہیں جانتے؟ میرا نام خفو خیرگود ہے اور میں تمہیں مارنے آیا ہوں۔" دیو نے جواب دیا: "اوہ! تم ابھی دودھ پیتے بچے ہو۔ ایسا بچہ مجھے مارنے کی کوشش نہ کرے۔" یہ کہہ کر اُس نے پھر سے اپنی ٹانگ اُٹھائی اور دوبارہ لات ماری، لفو کیسر ہوا میں اُڑتا گیا، پھر زمین پر گر پڑا۔ اس بار لفو کیسر کو نو جوڑ بیلوں کے فاصلے تک پھینک دیا۔
